SUMMARY:Rhythm & Jews: A History of Jews in Rock-n-Roll
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the second of three nights of Rhythm & Jews: A History of Jews in Rock-n-Roll. \nJewish performers and songwriters have played a major role in American popular music an American cultural history for nearly three-quarters of a century. The songs of Jewish artists are woven into the tapestry of our lives. In Rhythm and Jews, entertainer/guitarist/teacher Lincoln Richman uses video clips, sound recordings and live music to explore these contributions. Some of the artists we will learn about are Leiber & Stoller, who wrote many of Elvis Presley’s earliest hits, as well as singer/songwriters Carole King, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, Simon &Garfunkel and Neil Sedaka. He also explores music made famous by Kiss, Lesley Gore, The Ramones and the Beastie Boys.\nTO VIEW: https://us04web.zoom.us/j/2288144786pwd=UjRhOVRESUtxMmtwaURkakM0RnVrUT09\nMeeting I.D.
